We will be making a contribution on Wikipedia on the topic of "Photoaging". We noticed that this topic has little contribution or research done on it, hence, we decided to do a little bit more research on several areas of this topic. We will also read up on standard requirements of making a contribution to Wikipedia and follow the guidelines given. Additionally, we seek to analyse any difficulties face along the process and try to find ways to resolve them. http://cpe802cpe802.blogspot.com/

HopOver
Our team will be attempting to nurture and grow a community on wikia to contribute information and user guides for paid software users, who are interested to learn how to use FOSS. We have created a page http://hopover.wikia.com/wiki/HopOver_Wiki and will undertake to write guides and information on the pair equivalent for paid software like MWord, Photoshop. Our 2 main objectives for the project are 1) Gain live feedback from users on the effectiveness of wikia and 2) Getting the community to contribute to HopOver. http://2011cpe802.blogspot.com

The Shoulders of Giants

Using open source tools (and eclectic content), I  propose to rip, burn and mix a brief digital essay which explores how the emergence of digital network technologies is driving fundamental changes in the relationships between creativity, communication, ownership and rights, all over the world.

Molecules  PyMOL is an open-source visualization program for creating images of biomolecules such as proteins, DNA and associated complexes. While PyMOL offers powerful molecular visualization, due to a quirky user interface, a tutorial is often needed as an aid for new users. For first-time users, this is definitely a frustrating and cumbersome 'tool' that impedes the progress of one's research.   Also, the documentation is currently limited. Hence, we will use various open-source tools to enhance the documentation of Pymol. http://cpe802molecules.blogspot.com/

We will write out a storyline/rhyme. Based on the story/rhyme itself, we will use various Open Source Tools such as Scribus/LibreOffice, GIMP, Text-to-Speech, Audacity etc, to portray/showcase it in different manners (to reach the same objective). With a combination of these tools, we can create a mini-storytelling!

8 Mechanized We will set up a website using Kompozer (an OSS). The purpose of this website is to give information to mechanical engineers and students on open source software which are free and available on both windows and linux OS. Common softwares use by mechanical engineers are Computer Aided Drafting, Computer Aided Design and Finite Element Analysis Program. Therefore we will be introducing software like LibreCAD (2D CAD), FreeCAD (3D CAD), Calculix (FEA) and MeshLab (Rendering). The aim of this project is to promote the use OSS to mechanical engineers.

9 Visualize Your Fantasy This project aims to market the idea of creating customized profile pictures according to the customer’s requests of mimicking certain celebrities, fictional characters or even manga people through the usage of GIMP. Either a workshop or an online store can be relied to promote this idea.

Sharing the idea of a personal stock portfolio to track the realized/unrealized gains/losses for investors trading stocks over the SGX. This would be accomplished by linking real-time stock quotes to our LibreOffice Spreadsheet which includes the overall duration of transactions, capital gains, dividends etc. It would be accompanied with a tutorial to guide users (including making improvements or modifications to enhance the portfolio). The progress of our work would be documented in our blog, which also acts as a live feed for relevant financial news and quotes.

15 INFOSHARE
At present, the idea of OSS Tools is still not very widespread, possibly due to low number of resource materials on OSS Tools. INFOSHARE team will strive to set up a project to create a user-friendly yet informative wiki on OSS Tools for new OSS Tool users and non OSS Tool users alike.

18 AuctioNTU

As the official buy/sell NTU forum has closed down, we see a demand for a marketplace for NTU students. We are a group of NTU students who wish to provide a platform primarily for students to source for second hand textbooks. This site would cater to all faculties and majors in NTU at no cost. Students would have to register an account before been able to make any postings. Besides textbook, students can find other items on auction here as well. We hope that this site would be optimally utilised and serve the needs of all in NTU.
